The
Warrumbungles
Warrumbungles’ means ‘crooked mountains’ and
are the remnants of a 13 million year old volcano.
Their craggy peaks and spires are easily
recognised and easily accessable, being just 27 km from
Coonabarabran.
It is also home for plentiful wildlife, has
great camping facilities and an excellent range of walking trails
including one of Australia’s Great Walks, ‘The Grand High Tops’
which provides fantastic views and circumnavigates its way around
the unusual rock formation of The Breadknife. |
